One Way to Handle a Worker Shortage: Get Manufacturers To Do Your Work For You
It’s not a secret that the construction industry is facing a significant
labor shortage. Even with wages on the rise, contractors are challenged
to find qualified workers. In February, Associated Builders and
Contractors reported the industry needed to hire almost 650,000
additional workers on top of the normal pace of hiring in 2022 to meet
the existing labor demand.

Don't Build an Electrical House of Cards
I'm sure you’ve played the game, or at least heard of it. Taking a deck
of playing cards, you begin placing them on their edges, two 'walls' and
a ceiling. Card by card, you build outward and upward, creating a
little house of cards. The goal is to see how high you can go before it
all comes tumbling down.

Building Wire – NM Cabling
If you're an electrician, you're probably familiar with the various
types of building wire, from residential to commercial to industrial.
You're likely cognizant of the NEC® regulations for each area. It's not
unusual for some head scratching and confusion on some of them. So my
best advice when in doubt, contact your local or state inspections
office for clarification.

Raceways: Off the Wall Ideas For Electrical Installations
I've been an industrial electrician for over 30 years. So when somebody

Center. Of course, there are those smaller boxes over sets of starters
that are often called gutters. But they're raceways nonetheless.

Having Trouble Cabling Long Conduit Runs? Go Fish!
Fishing electrical and fiber optic cable from one end of a conduit to
the other is a regular chore for contractors in both new construction
and renovation/upgrade assignments. But because every job presents its
own challenges, not every fishing project can be approached in the same
way.

Could the Answer Really Be a Blowin' in the Wind?
That headline kind of dates me, doesn't it? Oh well, it is what it is!
So
let's get back to our regularly scheduled programing and talk about
wind power applications. It's kind of a fascinating concept in the field
of renewable energy.
