The Art and Science of Conduit Bending
Maybe "art" is a bit of a stretch. But conduit bending has definitely
become a science. Back when I first started, a hand bender was my
primary tool. Actually, it was the only tool I had to form sweeps,
offsets and saddle bends on smaller conduits.
For larger pipes or large projects, ratchet benders ensured a smooth, accurate bend radius. Ratchets also guaranteed a more consistent layout than hand benders, even on small diameter conduits.
