Mega News Announcement! ElectricSmarts (& Partners) Integrated Into Contractor Estimating Software

If you call this article a commercial, I won't be offended. This is usually an opinion piece which I guess it still is, but we're very pleased and proud of achieving integration with one of the industry's best Estimating Software vendors and I want to tell you about it.  ES believes this is the kind of comprehensive multi-party TEAM solution that the industry needs to succeed in a fast moving, expensive, and complex technical word. Disjointed approaches can neither achieve a standard of best practices nor cost savings. Thanks for reading it and of course, your opinion is always welcomed.

ElectricSmarts (& Its Partners) are now fully integrated into ConEst's Contractor Estimating Software System and we're excited. ConEst is one of the largest estimating software systems in the electrical space and one where ESmarts has had a solid NetPricerâ„¢ relationship for over 12 years. We also have had that same close ties to all the other Contractor Software Companies, so look for this to be just the first of several integration announcements. Welcome to getting closer to the easy-to-do-business-with model that was initiated by the big business-to-consumer guys.

In this scenario the Contractor never has to leave the estimating software that he's familiar with. He clicks a button and bang, gets bid pricing from his Distributor. He clicks another and imports last column trade pricing to use for moves and changes or design and build projects from the IDW data base. And, as long as he's there, he can also go to IDW and print out Spec Sheets and other helpful job information. But we're not through yet. Built into his menu is an item that pops up SMART eCat which presents a comprehensive collection of ElectricSmarts' Manufacturer-Partner catalogs. They are now at his fingertips, are up to date, and all work consistently so that he doesn't have to relearn each as he moves between them. The catalogs are also indexed so that he can type in a term or catalog number and find a product on the fly. Most catalogs even include product and how-to videos. 3D animations will also be available shortly. But there's even more. Since the database that comes with his software package only holds a limited number of items, too often when picking products most Manufacturers aren't included, so he picks the ones that are. Or, if a Manufacturer or Distributor does a good job convincing that Contractor to use his product, but that product is hard to locate, unless mandatory, often it's easier to take the path of least resistance and select products already present in his database. After all, we know that Contractors are busy people and time is money. However, NetPak now enables Contractors to instantly find and add Manufacturer's products to their Estimating Software Product Lists from the IDW. So when added, and the next time he looks to use that product in his bid, it's easily found in his system.

This is what the Contractor has been looking for. It gives him speed, uniformity, and simplicity in one location and in a format (his estimating software package) that he understands because he uses it every day. What about project managers or other field people who need access to this information but are not using desktop machines? Much of the same information is available to them also via the ESmarts produced and hosted Manufacturer, Distributor, or ES Mobile App.

Now the great news for ESmarts Manufacturer Partners is all their product and other information that is now on the ES Network (Your Catalog, Videos, Data, New Products, Stories, Brain Bank Interviews and more) is now also right on your Contractor customer's desktop. It is part of NetPak. There, your information will be front and center. Your ES investment just keeps getting better.  As we grow, so do you!

The same is true for Distributors. When your pricing and manufacturer's information is at your Contractor's finger tips day or night you become easy to use. One large Wholesaler did his own survey and concluded that he had done 6% more business with his NetPricerâ„¢ (now part of NetPak) customers than with the others. He said he's grown closer to them by offering a solution they embraced. Plus, for Distributors to be able augment that desktop experience for the Contractor by furnishing similar content on their website (Content Package) and within a low-cost, branded Mobile App, is a homerun.
