A powerful brand speaks to its constituents. It evokes emotion and stirs
feeling. Robin Williams' untimely death did just that. Hardly one
dimensional, he was a hilarious comic ("Cricket is basically baseball on valium.") but also had the gift of performing dramatic roles (Dead Poets Society, Good Will Hunting)
that touched the soul. If his powerful brand wasn't apparent in his
life, it certainly was in his death. People who knew him paid tribute,
but just as impressive were those that had never met him but spoke as if
they did. Obviously, he touched people far and wide and that's what a
powerful brand does.

the use of high-intensity discharge (HID) fixtures in high-demand
exterior applications. Understanding just what a fixture and its ballast
might face, however, is critical to choosing the right HID fixture.

The switch is on – from incandescent and halogen to compact fluorescent (CFL) and LED bulbs.Lutron wants to make sure dimmers accelerate CFL and LED lamp use. The company has recently launched its C-L Dimmers for dimmable CFL and LED bulbs. The new dimmers feature HED technology with advanced circuitry designed for compatibility with most high-efficiency bulbs while also allowing for the mixture of CFL and LED along with legacy incandescent or halogen lamps on the same dimmer. With federal energy standards, effective Nov. 14, 2014, setting a
performance target attainable by only a very few magnetic fluorescent
ballasts, electronic ballasts will likely be the only option on the
market for fluorescent luminaires in the very near future. While this
means many facility owners and managers may be forced to upgrade their
fixtures to accommodate electronic ballasts when currently operating
units fail, these newer, highly functional ballasts will enable better
dimming and integration into broader efficiency strategies, such as
daylight harvesting.
