IWL LED Series Luminaires: Elevating Safety, Efficiency, and Dependability in Industrial and Commercial Spaces

Wall pack lighting is installed on the exterior walls of buildings where it provides needed illumination to ensure safety and security. This type of fixture is perfect for parking lots, pathways, exits, entrances, or wherever nighttime visibility is crucial.

Due to technological advances, wall pack lighting now uses energy-efficient, long-lasting LEDs rather than an outdated metal halide, high pressure sodium, and other lighting types. LED lifespan is up to forty times longer than other light sources, so it requires much less maintenance. Maintenance is an especially important consideration when it comes to industrial or warehouse lighting. Wall pack lighting most often has higher mounting heights, which means that maintaining a fixture requires, at a minimum, a ladder and, in some cases, specialized hydraulic lifts.

When choosing an industrial wall pack LED luminaire, the manufacturer is as important as the technology. Low-cost, offshore suppliers may seem more economical at first but when frequent maintenance, short lifespan, and the absence of customer service for the fixture are factored in, the lowest cost often means the least affordable. Choosing an industry leader like Appleton is your safest, smartest move to get the most value for your money.

Only recently, Appleton released a new powerful, weatherproof series of LED wall pack luminaires ideal for a diverse range of commercial and industrial facilities. Available in three unique models, Appleton IWL luminaires offer bright, cost-efficient illumination to ensure employee safety and security, along with the versatility of nine field-selectable configurations in each fixture to perfectly match lumen level and color temperature requirements.

In addition to new installations, retrofitting legacy HID wall pack lighting with Appleton IWL luminaires allows for improved light output and quality while simultaneously reducing energy consumption by as much as 75 percent. There is no faster, more cost-efficient method of upgrading 100 to 400 Watt legacy HID wall packs to the many advantages of LED technology than Appleton IWL luminaires.

Compared to standard wall packs, Appleton IWL luminaires deliver significant improvements in dependability, especially in areas where condensation and humidity are a problem. Rather than a plastic enclosure, IWL luminaires are housed in rugged cast aluminum protected by a powder coating, with a heavy-duty glass lens, silicone rubber gasketing, and stainless-steel bolts and pins. An IP65 ingress certification qualifies IWL luminaires for safe installation in wet outdoor facilities such as power generation plants, steel factories, cement, stone and sand production sites, shipbuilding and marinas, pulp and paper plants, and foundries. Dependability is further strengthened by 4kV surge protection and the industry's broadest operating temperature range of -40° to +40°C (-40° to 104°F).

Appleton IWL Series LED wall packs offer three field selectable color temperatures (CCT): 5000K Cool White, 4000K Neutral White, or 3000K Warm White along with wattage levels of low, mid and high up to 15,000 lumens. A factory-installed button type photocell is also available as an option. Emerson protects Appleton IWL Series wall packs with a five-year warranty.
