Grips Prevent Wire Pull-Out
When a wire pull-out occurs, problems arise. Safety non-compliance, OSHA
non-compliance, unscheduled downtime, and additional maintenance can
all be caused by a cable pull-out. The stress placed directly on a cable
can break internal equipment resulting in further repair costs.
The National Electrical Code has numerous requirements for strain relief and cable support. Strain relief is required where cords on machinery or equipment can be subjected to motion, vibration, or pulling. The code also has requirements for supporting cables.
