| This video illustrates how Mersens new Greeneye-Greenbrain PV Safety System ensures the safety of firefighters and electricians working on PV installations. Firefighters, when called on a burning building, commonly start by removing all sources of power entering the building. In a building with a rooftop PV installation, even if the installation is disconnected from the main grid, the PV modules are generating DC voltage of several hundred volts. Under these conditions, there is a risk of electrocution. The only effective solution to avoid any risk of electrocution is to shut down the PV field at individual PV module level. |
