LITEISTRY Line from Prescolite Promises A “Quiet Ceiling” and Uniform Look

Prescolite, a Hubbell Lighting brand, has announced a new series of architectural downlighting it promises will help designers create a truly “quiet ceiling” in commercial applications.

Quiet ceilings, the company explains, have do to with lighting fixtures being unobtrusive in their own right. With a quiet ceiling, the light coming from the fixture is what is highlighted and noticed, not the physical structure of the luminaire or fixture itself.

Keys to that include providing consistency in appearance and performance, and the company says its new LITEISTRY line offers just that, with both round and square aperture shapes in 3-inch, 4-inch and 6-inch sizes covering downlighting, wall wash, adjustable accent and cylinder solutions.

Four different beam distributions, a wide range of lumen outputs and 27 reflector finish/color combinations provide additional freedom for architects and designers to mix and match from among the line while providing a coordinated visual across an entire project.

Keys to creating the new line included advances in LED source efficacy, thermal management techniques, optical materials and optical design. For instance, LITEISTRY offers 50% shielding of the source and source image to significantly “quiet” the appearance across a range of fixtures. Achieved beam patterns are consistent with soft edges whether working with a narrow or extra wide distribution.

Anodized reflectors are also utilized across LITEISTRY, with identical trim construction, to provide consistency in appearance and performance – even when round and square apertures are utilized in the same project.

A common chip-on-board LED is also used across the LITEISTRY portfolio, providing up to 2000 delivered lumens in the 3″ downlight and 9,000 delivered lumens for the 6″ downlight. The use of common LED source ensures 2-Step McAdam Ellipse color con-sistency and either 80+ or 90+ CRI across all options.

Along with a quiet aperture, the optical design delivers a wide range of beam distribu-tions with high efficacies. These distributions are carried across the downlights and cylinder products to again provide consistency in performance.

Adjustable accent solutions further provide up to 35° vertical and 362° horizontal rota-tion with translating center beam optics to ensure the beam is always aimed through the center of the aperture. This enhances performance on the wall and eliminates glare at the aperture.

Other LITEISTRY features include beam distributions of Narrow, Medium, Wide and Extra Wide and Wall Wash options including Single, Double, Corner and Lensed. Five finish reflector options can be paired with seven color options and four flange options.

All luminaires are UL924 compliant with integral and remote emergency lighting op-tions, offer color tuning technology and come with distributed intelligence wired and wireless controls capability as well as being available for Power over Ethernet (PoE) applications.
