Cloud-based CMMS Software Keeps PM Tracking Manageable

A major part of ensuring your company stays profitable is maintaining your own assets. That includes everything from tracking equipment location to ensuring proper maintenance PM schedules and repairs are followed. Whether your business is mobile or tied to a location, keeping equipment in optimal condition is vital to your success.

Keeping your equipment running is also vital to serving your customers efficiently while staying within budget. Downtime equals lost revenue.

As your company grows, this can be quite a complex and time-consuming process. Keeping up with your growing asset inventory is enough to give any maintenance manager or financial officer headaches.

This was the case with Dorthy Battista, fleet manager at Brothers Paving & Concrete. With the growth they were experiencing, they needed a more efficient, reliable PM program. To deliver quality work on schedule while staying on budget, Dorthy recognized that the old paper-based method of tracking maintenance no longer fit their business goals.

Taking CMMS to the Cloud Helped Brothers Concrete & Paving Stay Agile
Paper maintenance records get lost, misplaced or inadvertently destroyed quite easily. Not only that, they are rarely up to date. Many records and log sheets aren't completed until the end of the day. Even that seemingly negligible amount of time can make a huge difference.

Brothers also required a computerized maintenance management system that would grow with them. With a swelling fleet of trucks, pavers and other equipment, paper records just didn’t cut it anymore. They needed a solution that would track asset conditions, PM schedules and location in real time.

That solution was found in MPulse Maintenance Software. They were finally able to keep highly accurate records and create a preventive maintenance program that adjusted to their needs.

MPulse and IIoT Combined for Smarter Preventive Maintenance
The CMMS software developed by MPulse is able to integrate with other vehicle and asset tracking software because of its IIoT capability. Also known as the Industrial Internet of Things, IIoT allowed Brothers Paving & Concrete to install NexTraq vehicle and asset tracking software in conjunction with the MPulse CMMS.

Using GPS Technology and vehicle sensors, NexTraq monitored vehicle miles traveled, hours run, and other pertinent data. This information was passed through to the MPulse CMMS software through its DataLink Integration Adapter IIoT solution. In other words, their vehicles just got "smarter" with internet connectivity. That gave them the power to design and implement a smarter PM program.

NexTraq mapped the vehicle information to the mileage and other fields in the MPulse software. Scheduled maintenance work orders were generated, and the software notified operators when PM activities were due.

More Than Just a Vehicle Maintenance Program
While tracking vehicles was important in this case, the MPulse CMMS software is highly adaptable. In the factory, it tracks equipment schedules, records unplanned repairs and gives you a window into total maintenance costs. The maintenance manager and the financial officer quickly access the same data, customized for their requirements.

For building managers at hotels, college dorms, and other public venues, MPulse tracks current maintenance expenditures. It can also be used to track and schedule maintenance requests from the occupants. With a fully customizable interface, MPulse delivers the personalized information you need, whenever you need it.

Since the system is cloud based, there's no need to install any software on your computers. Its versatility is enhanced through access from smartphones and other mobile devices.

The MPulse CMMS software solution allows Brothers Paving & Concrete to delight their customers and compete effectively in a tough market. If you maintain a data center, hospital/healthcare facility, or even a public school, moving to the cloud with MPulse CMMS can keep your operations running smoothly and efficiently as well.
