A data center has bundles of wires underneath its floor leading to computer racks. This wiring is susceptible to small voltage spikes and induced voltages. The National Electrical Code requires safety grounding, but it stops where the TIA Standard takes over. As a result, mesh grounding is typically installed in addition to safety grounds.
