Taking Wireless Lighting Control Outdoors

I'd not thought of this before until I came across some interesting lighting products. Using wireless lighting control indoors is almost second nature to me. I love the technology, to be honest. I can't remember the last time I touched a switch at home to turn lights on or off.

Okay … I haven't fully integrated the kitchen yet … but that's coming soon to a Maurer home near me. The lights I have in there aren't "smart" enough. And they cost me a good chunk of change, so I don't want to trash them.

Smarter Lighting for Smarter Homes

It's kind of been a theme lately. Smart offices, smart buildings … and smart homes. Believe me, I'm all for it. It's not that I'm to lazy to turn off lights. It's just that, well, sometimes I forget.

But in any case, if you're an electrician, you've been in dark places because of power outages or new construction.

I've been in my share of them, for sure.

Corrosion Resistance and Precise Casting Give Contractors Something to Zinc About

A number of materials can be used to manufacture electrical connectors and couplers, with steel and zinc leading the pack. Each material has its advantages that can make it more appropriate for specific applications, but it’s important to remember that all such fittings have to meet specific requirements to gain a UL listing. For example, die-cast zinc alloy offerings can add value where corrosion is a threat.

Map Out Easier Operations with Data Integration

As a small business owner, I’ve come to count on a number of software packages to track my workload and manage my finances. I use different packages for overseeing my personal finances, keeping a calendar, tracking invoices and the once-a-year joy of preparing my annual income taxes. I spend a lot of time transferring data from one of these programs to another, mostly by hand.
