Why Facilities Want Sub-Metering

Facilities are very interested in slowing the rise of their utility bills by the use of sub-metering. The electric utility bill is one of the largest payments that a facility makes every month. No other such large payment goes unverified by the management. Facility managers can verify the utility bill and also verify the savings from energy conservation projects with sub-metering. Utility demand charges can also be reduced by rescheduling the larger loads with information from sub-metering.  ...more

Lamp Efficiency Equals Lower Operational Costs

Lamp efficiency is equate-able to energy efficiency. Each type of lamp has a range of efficiency, called lumens per watt (LPW) that, like miles per gallon, reflects a particular parameter of performance – light output per watt. The higher the LPW, the more efficient the lamp and all things being equal the lower the cost of operation.
