Energy Savings Coming to an Outlet Near You Chuck Ross 
Energy-efficiency codes are becoming increasingly stringent. Significant
energy-use reductions already have been achieved in lighting systems,
with the elimination of many incandescent and low-efficiency fluorescent
lamp options. Now, code authorities are beginning to take a closer look
at plug loads – all those devices plugged into wall and office cubicle
outlets. It’s estimated that plug loads are responsible for up to 25% of
the energy used in commercial buildings.

with new offerings to address the code updates.
