Shatterproof fluorescent lamps are well suited for use in food
manufacturing, food processing plants, food preparation areas in
restaurants where hygiene and safety are important, refrigerated and
non-refrigerated areas of grocery stores, clean rooms, hospitals,
medical labs, manufacturing and warehouse applications, industrial
plants and distribution centers, facilities for technology development,
and educational facilities.
Use of shatterproof lighting is also mandated in elevators by the American Society of Manufacturing Engineers.
