For contractors working in hazardous environments such as oil rigging, mining or chemical plants, to name a few, Hubbell Killark offers hazardous environment enclosures to guard against flammable gases or vapors, combustible dust and easily ignitable fibers. The enclosures are also designed to weather storms, corrosion and dampness, for marine or on-shore installations with either or both indoor and outdoor processes.

Housing control stations, meters, relays, starters, circuit breakers, terminal blocks and other electrical equipment or devices, Killark hazardous location enclosures offer copper-free cast aluminum construction or fiberglass housings with reduced cover bolts that both keep out dust and particles as well as reduce installation and maintenance time.

Gasketed flanges consisting of Nitrile “O” ring gaskets are located inside bolt circles to further prevent water seepage into the enclosure.

All enclosures sized 8x12x6 and larger are supplied standard with hinges mounted on the left side, while smaller enclosures can be drilled for field installation of hinges or have hinges installed by Killark at the factory.

The enclosures also feature recessed flange notches, allowing for easier cover opening with a prying instrument without damage to flanges.

Enclosures are cast with wall thickness suitable for drilling and tapping of conduit openings on all sides as well as the back of boxes. Conduits can be factory or field installed.

Optional features include sheet aluminum mounting pans, tempered soda lime glass windows and aluminum lacquer paint.

Hubbell Killark's hazardous enclosure line includes several series of junction boxes and terminal boxes as well as aluminum outlet covers with terminal block, threaded conduit cover boxes, circuit breaker handles, round and rectangular lenses and instrument/device enclosures.
