XClamp Tamper-Resistant Receptacle from Hubbell Wiring Device-Kellems Speeds Installation Time

Hubbell’s new XClamp Tamper-Resistant Receptacle has an easy, three-step installation, reducing installation time: simply strip, insert, and clamp. An external back-wire clamp eliminates the need to loop the wire. Designed for use with 15- and 20-amp, 14- and 12-gauge wiring, XClamp is ideal for 20-amp branch circuits in residential applications.

To maximize flexibility while minimizing mistakes on residential jobsites, Hubbell Wiring Device-Kellems designed its new XClamp Tamper-Resistant Receptacle with an easy, three-step installation process that eliminates the need to loop the wire.

Installers simply strip, insert, and clamp the XClamp receptacle; compression plates maximize holding power and eliminate the need to loop the wire, saving time and reducing the opportunity for error. An external back-wire clamp ensures fast, easy, and secure installation. This is extremely fast and secure, especially on 20 amp branch circuits where 12-gauge wire is being used.

The tamper-resistant receptacle is designed for use with 15 amp and 20 amp 14-gauge and 12-gauge wiring. With the XClamp, up to eight wires can be terminated for downstream circuits and junctions, reducing the need to pigtail. Break-off tabs for switched receptacles allow for split termination and easy feed through.

The XClamp receptacle is ideal where 20 amp branch circuits are required in residential laundry, bathroom, pantry, breakfast room, and dining room applications, as well as small-appliance branch circuits in residential kitchens.
